Where I live and What I do:
I occupy a dwelling in a leafy suburb, somewhere in the Upper North Shore of Sydney with my loving husband, four children, a dog and an overweight cat. I graduated with a Master in Primary Teaching (K-6) a few years back and now work full-time permanent position in a school somewhere in Western Sydney. I truly believe teaching can only be successful if you have the passion to make a difference in the lives of the children you teach.
My Personal Opinion (and I bet you'd agree with me)
Today, all teachers are exposed to technology more than ever. In most circumstances its application is almost mandatory. I can recall the days when the SmartBoard and computers were out of reach for casual teachers. It was heart-breaking to see a notice such as this on a wall - "The computers are not to be used 1) in wet weather 2) with casual teacher".
Now, the integration of technology is compulsory and whether schools like it or not, all teachers, permanent, temporary, part-time, full-time, casual (did I miss anyone?) will have access to the SMARTBOARD (if available) and the computers (at least). Let's face it, leave the photocopy machine alone and save some trees.
Hurrah!
